Private customers who have experienced power outages lasting more than 12 consecutive hours are entitled to compensation.

According to the "Regulation on economic and technical reporting, revenue cap for grid operations, and tariffs," end-users can claim compensation for outages exceeding 12 hours.

Compensation is automatically disbursed on one of the initial electricity billings following the outage. Therefore, there is no need to apply for this.

The duration of a prolonged power outage is calculated from the moment Jæren Everk first received notification of the interruption or knew or should have known that the interruption had occurred.

The outage ceases when normal power supply is restored.

Compensation rates for residential properties:
Outage 12 hours:Kr 500
Per hour beyond 12 hours:Kr 40
Compensation rates for recreational properties:
Outage 12 hours:Kr 125
Per hour beyond 12 hours:Kr 10

For recreational properties, the total annual claim cannot exceed the expected net rental fee paid for the current year.

Compensation does not apply to customers with their own agreement for disconnectable consumption.
